Doña Ana County Facilities & Parks and Vector Control Departments Have Been Working Hard All Year to Make Needed Improvements Throughout the Fairgrounds

The Doña Ana County Facilities & Parks and Vector Control Departments have been working hard all year to make needed improvements throughout the Fairgrounds. We invested $250,000 provided by the state’s capital outlay funds, thanks to the support of State Senator Crystal Diamond and Luis Terrazas Representative for District 39! Some upgrades may not be immediately noticeable, but all of them will hopefully enhance your experience at the fair:
* We repaved the main area, where the food vendors are setup, and performed crack sealing there as well.
* We improved the sound system.
* We repainted about 15 buildings.
* We installed new air conditioning in the Special Events building.
* About 84 hog tents were replaced and the ground surface was redone.
* The rabbit pen stands also got a new metal base.
* We upgraded the lighting underneath the canopy in the main area.
The County funded some key upgrades as well, such as insulating and renewing the roof for half the livestock farm, fortifying the ground with concrete, and providing internet connectivity!
We hope you enjoy these improvements and have some fun at the Southern New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo this weekend!
