Rep. Gabe Vasquez, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Mexico’s 2nd district since 2023, has recently made statements regarding local law enforcement and national security issues through his social media platform. Born in El Paso, Texas, and residing in Las Cruces, Vasquez has been vocal about his concerns for community safety and governmental transparency.

On March 24, 2025, Rep. Vasquez commended the Las Cruces Police Department for their effective work in solving a case at Young Park. He stated that “The Las Cruces Police Department has done a fantastic job in tracking down the perpetrators of this event that happened at Young Park.” He highlighted their cooperation with various levels of government to address the incident.

In another post on the same day, Vasquez addressed resource allocation for local police forces. He mentioned his inquiries to the Las Cruces Police Department about their needs by stating “I also asked LCPD questions about resources, and what more resources the local police department needs to properly do their job.”

On March 25, 2025, Rep. Vasquez issued a statement concerning a national security breach involving Trump administration officials. Although details were not disclosed in the tweet itself, he directed readers to further information with “My statement on Trump officials’ national security breach.”
