Rep. John Block, a Republican member of the New Mexico State House representing the 51st district since 2023, has recently made several statements on his social media account addressing issues within the conservative movement and state energy policy.

On November 4, 2025, Block posted: “Neo-Nazis deserve to be driven out of the conservative movement, full stop. Call it “cancel culture” all you want. I refuse to associate with actual Nazis.” The statement was made amid ongoing debates about extremism in political movements.

Later that day, Block commented on another issue: “We have to be paid to know this woman is a fraud and a grifter?” The context or subject of this tweet was not clarified in the post.

In a third post referencing legislative oversight, Block wrote: “Yesterday at the NM Finance Authority Oversight Committee, when asking the Executive Director of the Renewable Energy Transmission Authority about why Dems refuse to tax renewables the way they tax oil & gas, I exposed how the Democrats’ Energy Transition Act (ETA), aka the Green”. This comment reflects ongoing discussions regarding energy taxation and legislative approaches in New Mexico.

Block was elected to his current position in 2023 after succeeding Rachel Black as representative for New Mexico’s 51st House district.
