Rep. John Block, a Republican elected to the New Mexico State House in 2023 representing the state’s 51st House district, has recently shared several posts on his Twitter account discussing public safety and rural funding.

On January 11, 2026, Block posted a message regarding law enforcement and public safety: “PSA: Trying to mow down cops with your car is attempted vehicular homicide and will likely get you shot dead. Pass it on”.

Three days later, on January 14, 2026, he addressed rural funding needs in New Mexico: “I wholeheartedly agree with Rep. Dixon on the need for funds to go to rural places, like right here in Alamogordo. I sit on the NM Finance Authority Oversight Committee, and because of my advocacy over the years on that committee to prioritize rural communities, projects like the”.

Between these two statements, Block also responded to an earlier event with a lighter tone on January 12, 2026: “Chill, it was only 6 years ago https://t.co/NTtMjlnGul”.

Block serves as a member of the NM Finance Authority Oversight Committee and has advocated for prioritizing projects in rural communities such as Alamogordo. He succeeded Rachel Black after winning election in 2023.
