Rep. John Block, a Republican member of the New Mexico State House representing the 51st district since 2023, has posted a series of comments on social media addressing recent developments during a legislative special session.

On September 30, 2025, Block questioned the sincerity of congressional Democrats in a post that read: “When you can’t tell if congressional Dems are serious or just LARPing for parody’s sake

Might have to wear a sombrero to special session in honor of @RepTeresaLF https://t.co/O4V2DY4My8“.

The following day, October 1, 2025, he shared another brief comment: “So cringe https://t.co/GhWQpUtbY8”.

After the conclusion of the legislative gathering on October 3, Block wrote: “The farce of a “special session” is over. I fought hard for you and called out the Radical Leftists who have maligned, demeaned, and put targets on our backs for our beliefs. I challenged these people to their faces for their hateful rhetoric that is leading to political violence https://t.co/5FxME6qDgx”.

Block began serving in the New Mexico State House after his election in 2023. He succeeded Rachel Black as representative for District 51.
