Las Cruces announces unofficial results for city council and judge elections

Las Cruces held its municipal elections on November 4, 2025, with races for City Council Districts 3, 5, and 6, as well as the Municipal Judge position. The unofficial results have been released by the New Mexico Secretary of State.

In City Council District 3, Michael James Harris received 1,096 votes (55 percent), while Isaiah Paul Tellez garnered 893 votes (45 percent). Paul Kevin Paar, a write-in candidate, received no votes. Write-in ballots are still being counted in this district.

For City Council District 5, Becky Ann Corran led with 1,987 votes (63 percent) over Ronnie M Sisneros who had 1,174 votes (37 percent).

In City Council District 6, John P Munoz secured victory with 2,198 votes (62.5 percent), defeating Richard Reynaud who obtained 1,319 votes (37.5 percent). This race was decided after three rounds of Ranked Choice Voting.

James Prentice DeRossitt IV ran unopposed for Municipal Judge and received all 11,362 votes cast for that office.

These results remain unofficial until they are certified by the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners within ten days following the election and subsequently by the State of New Mexico by the end of November.

The newly elected officials will take their Oath of Office on December 15, 2025. Their four-year terms will begin on January 1, 2026.
