The City of Las Cruces is launching a 12-week seminar series called “Know your City,” starting September 3, 2025. The program aims to give residents an inside look at how different city departments function and how various municipal services are delivered.

Sessions will be held every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Las Cruces City Hall Council Chambers at 700 N. Main Street, except for one session that will take place at the Las Cruces Utilities building on 680 N. Motel Boulevard. The final event, a graduation brunch with recognition at the City Council Meeting, is scheduled for Monday, November 17.

There is no registration required for this free program. Residents can attend any or all sessions based on their interests. Those who participate in every session will receive recognition from the City Council.

According to the city’s announcement: “Have you ever wondered how the City determines which roads will be repaired or how Senior Nutrition meals are prepared? If you’re interested in understanding how various City departments operate individually, we have a 12-week program for you with no commitment to attend every session.”

The initiative comes as part of ongoing efforts by Las Cruces officials to engage community members and provide transparency about local government operations.
