The City of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department announced on April 10 that it is accepting applications from food vendors for the annual Movies in the Park and Music in the Park series, which will begin on May 10 at the Downtown Plaza and continue at Young Park through September.

The summer event series is an opportunity for local food vendors to serve attendees during live music performances and family-friendly movie screenings. The city says these events are among its most popular seasonal programs, providing community engagement through recreation opportunities according to the official website.

Vendors interested in participating must submit their applications by April 30, with all applications reviewed based on compliance with event guidelines and available space. Applications can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation Department located at 1501 E. Hadley Avenue. Vendors operating on foot will not be permitted; approved vendors must remain within their assigned spaces to ensure safety during city events.

The City of Las Cruces delivers local governance, services, infrastructure management, regulation, and community programs according to the official website. It operates under a home-rule municipal government with a council-manager structure led by City Manager Ikani Taumoepeau, who is appointed by the city council according to the official website. The city’s departments handle utilities, public works, youth programs, senior services, recreation initiatives, and more within its municipal boundaries in New Mexico according to the official website.
