A social media threat involving Camino Real Middle School and Organ Mountain High School was investigated by Las Cruces Public Schools in collaboration with law enforcement. The investigation determined that the threat was unsubstantiated.

According to a statement from the district, “All students and staff are safe, and school will continue as scheduled tomorrow, Monday, Sept. 8.”

Las Cruces Public Schools emphasized their commitment to safety: “The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. As an added precaution, there will be increased security presence at both campuses tomorrow. We also remain confident in our existing safety measures, including our weapons detection system.”

The district thanked families for their ongoing support in keeping schools secure: “Thank you for your continued support and partnership in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment.”
