NM State defeated Delaware 15-9 at Presley Askew Field at Johnson Stadium on April 3, clinching the series and improving its record to 13-16 overall and 5-6 in Conference USA play. The Aggies’ offense produced their highest output of the season, while Delaware dropped to 10-21 overall and 1-10 in league action.

The game began with Delaware taking a quick three-run lead in the first inning. NM State responded in the second inning with RBI hits from Boston Vest and Chris Daniels, narrowing the deficit. The Aggies took control by the middle innings, highlighted by Jonatan Clough’s RBI triple in the fifth that put them ahead for good. Rulli followed with a run-scoring play, and Daniels hit a solo home run to extend their advantage.

Delaware attempted a comeback in the sixth inning but was limited as NM State capitalized on two errors to score five runs on just two hits. The Aggies added three more runs in the eighth inning through contributions from Camden Kaufman, Solorzano’s baserunning, and Aidan Taclas’s sacrifice fly. Despite three late runs from Delaware in the ninth, NM State secured the win.

Kaufman led offensively with four RBIs while going two-for-four at bat. Clough had three hits; Vest matched his career high of three RBIs; and NM State collected a total of fourteen hits across six different innings. On pitching duty, Hazen Wright allowed no earned runs over nearly three innings of relief work for his first collegiate win.

Notable achievements included Kaufman’s second multi-RBI game this season; four sacrifice flies by NM State—the most since March 2021; career-best performances from several players including Colton Sneddon’s longest outing as starter and Steve Solorzano’s first multi-steal game. Both Solorzano and Easton Rulli extended their hitting streaks to twelve games each.
