NM State women’s tennis team finished a three-match weekend with a 2-1 record, earning victories over Utah Tech and Seattle University before falling to UNLV on March 9 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas.

The results highlight the team’s strong performances across multiple matches, demonstrating depth in both singles and doubles play. The Aggies’ efforts over the weekend reflect their competitive standing as they prepare for upcoming conference play.

The Aggies began their stretch with a 4-2 win against Utah Tech at the Trailblazer Tennis Courts. NM State swept all three doubles matches to secure the opening point, with Anna Pinaieva and Nadia Nemeth winning 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, Anna Klimova and Montana Parkinson-Lubold matching that score at No. 2, and Dora Kurdi with Whitney Moon completing the sweep at No. 3. In singles, Parkinson-Lubold won in straight sets at No. 2, Nemeth added another point at No. 5, and Mariella Gelbke clinched the match after coming back from a set down at No. 6.

On Saturday, NM State continued its momentum by sweeping Seattle U 4-0 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. Pinaieva and Nemeth secured a win in doubles while Klimova and Parkinson-Lubold followed up with a close victory to claim the point for NM State. In singles action, Pinaieva delivered a straight-set win at No. 2, Emma Petton dominated her opponent at No. 4, and Nemeth closed out the match with another solid performance.

The weekend concluded with a loss to host UNLV as NM State fell 4-0 on Sunday afternoon despite Kurdi and Moon’s success in doubles at the third position. Several singles matches were closely contested before UNLV clinched the overall result.

Looking ahead, NM State will travel to Murfreesboro for an early week Conference USA matchup against Middle Tennessee on March 17.
