Vanetta Busch, director of Hazing Prevention and Organizational Development at New Mexico State University, has been appointed as chapter board president for the Rio Grande Chapter of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) for the 2025-26 term.

CUPA-HR operates 41 chapters that offer professional development, resources, and networking opportunities to human resources professionals in higher education. The organization’s volunteer board includes leaders from various institutions throughout the Rio Grande region. “As chapter president, I will gain experience, utilize leadership skills and advance priorities,” Busch said.

Chapter presidents are responsible for providing learning opportunities, managing budgets, and supporting the development of human resources leaders. In her new role, Busch will focus on advancing strategic priorities through events, outreach, and engagement with participants.

“I first want to make sure that all Rio Grande chapters know and utilize the resources that are available from CUPA-HR,” Busch said. “Additionally, I seek to provide learning opportunities and cultivate the future of HR leaders.”
