The following day, January 20, 2026, Dow commented on an incident at an Albuquerque Children, Youth & Families Department (CYFD) office involving harm to a staff member: “Yet another incident at the Abq CYFD office! Juvenile harms CYFD worker!
To get children safely out of the office, it will take a full ‘kitchen sink’ effort — I hope tonight’s executive order is THE BEGINNING of the conversation on CYFD this session, not the end.
