Representative Rebecca Dow, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent New Mexico’s 38th House district, has used her social media platform to address issues related to public safety and state policy. In a series of posts made between August 18 and August 20, Dow criticized state leadership and called for action on several fronts.
On August 18, Dow expressed solidarity with fellow Republicans and advocates against violent crime, stating: “No more preventable murders. I will fight with you @Nicolechavez4NM @NMHouseGOP @nmhrcc @NewMexicoGOP”.
The following day, she commented on Second Amendment rights, writing: “A right delayed is a right denied! @NRA @NM_SSA” on August 19.
On August 20, Dow criticized the state’s Child, Youth & Families Department (CYFD) and Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s decision to call a special session regarding ICE facilities. She posted: “I am absolutely fed up with the continued failed policies at CYFD. I’m disgusted that MLG is calling a special session to close ICE facilities (making our state more dangerous) instead of addressing the DUMPSTER FIRES at CYFD. ‘This is the fifth infant fatality due'”.
Dow was elected after replacing former representative Tara Jaramillo as part of the Republican delegation in the New Mexico State House in 2025.
