Representative Rebecca Dow, a Republican member of the New Mexico State House for the 38th district, posted a series of statements on her X (formerly Twitter) account addressing recent law enforcement actions and concerns about children’s safety and exposure to explicit material.

On January 16, 2026, Dow shared information regarding an arrest in New Mexico. She stated, “New Mexico Arrest! The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued an alert that ICE has arrested of Mahmoud Telfah, a criminal illegal alien from Jordan, convicted for child solicitation by electronic communication device and meets with a child, and attempt to commit”.

The following day, January 17, 2026, Dow replied to another post with a brief affirmation: “Yes. Every kid!”

Later on January 17, she addressed concerns over children’s exposure to pornography in schools or public settings. Dow wrote, “Regarding porn, the progressives say, ‘At least they’re reading.’ Parents, these are your children their are talking about! @TheNewMexicoSun @NMfamilyAction @NMHouseGOP @nmhrcc”.

Dow was elected in 2025 to represent New Mexico’s 38th House district after succeeding Tara Jaramillo.
