Gabe Vasquez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Mexico’s 2nd district, has been actively engaging with his constituents through social media. Since replacing Yvette Herrell in 2023, Vasquez has used platforms like Twitter to raise awareness on various issues and initiatives.

On May 3, 2025, Rep. Gabe Vasquez tweeted about #WildfirePrepDay2025, encouraging individuals to visit a provided link for information on wildfire preparedness. “Today is #WildfirePrepDay2025 – Visit https://t.co/o8d8yblTrI for information on how to protect yourself and your neighbors ahead of wildfire season.”

Two days later, on May 5, 2025, he marked MMIW Day by expressing support for the new Turquoise Alert system in New Mexico. In his tweet he stated, “Today is MMIW Day – a day of awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous women. In NM, I strongly support the new Turquoise Alert system, meant to quickly mobilize community resources to find missing persons from Tribal communities.”

On May 6, 2025, Vasquez shared his experience meeting with students from the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities. He emphasized the importance of expanding opportunities for Latino students in higher education through a tweet saying, “I joined students from the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities to talk about what it takes to expand opportunity for Latino students. Higher education changed my life, and I’m committed to making sure every young person—no matter their background—has the same chance.”

Gabe Vasquez was born in El Paso, Texas in 1984 and resides in Las Cruces. He graduated from New Mexico State University in 2008 with a BA.
