Gabe Vasquez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Mexico’s 2nd district, has recently shared several notable updates via social media. These posts highlight key developments and acknowledgments within his constituency and beyond.

On May 15, 2025, Vasquez congratulated Chief Jeremy Story on being named Citizen of the Year. He stated, “Join me in congratulating Chief Jeremy Story on being named Citizen of the Year.” Vasquez expressed gratitude for Chief Story’s leadership and dedication to the Las Cruces community.

Later that day, Vasquez acknowledged the addition of three officers from New Mexico to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall in Washington. In his message posted at 19:14 UTC, he remarked, “This year, three officers from NM are being added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall here in Washington.” He offered condolences to their families and assured them that their loved ones would not be forgotten.

In a subsequent post at 21:02 UTC on May 15, 2025, Vasquez extended thanks to organizations supporting legislation efforts. He tweeted, “Thank you, Center for Civic Policy and the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center for supporting this important legislation!”

Born in El Paso, Texas in 1984 and residing in Las Cruces, Gabe Vasquez has served since replacing Yvette Herrell in Congress in 2023. He graduated with a BA from New Mexico State University in 2008.
