Rep. John Block, a Republican member of the New Mexico State House representing the 51st District, announced his intention to seek reelection in a series of posts on January 9, 2026.

In his initial post, Block stated, ” I’m running for reelection! Please help me get on the ballot by taking a moment to sign my petition. We must keep the strongest possible conservative voice in the NM House for the 51st District! → https://t.co/84bDeSeOVT https://t.co/DIFx0lBkLC” (January 9, 2026).

Later that day, he expressed support for law enforcement officers with another message: “God bless our incredible LEOs! https://t.co/yFFWgKFEYm” (January 9, 2026).

He also clarified eligibility requirements for signing his petition: “Remember: You can only sign if you live in the district (Alamogordo, Otero County)” (January 9, 2026).

Block was first elected to represent New Mexico’s 51st House district in 2023 after succeeding Rachel Black as state representative.
