Rep. John Block, a Republican serving New Mexico’s 51st House district since 2023, addressed recent incidents and rhetoric surrounding political violence in a series of tweets posted on September 24, 2025.
In his first post that day, Block expressed concern for those affected by recent events, writing: “Praying fervently for all victims involved Political violence must end — and it must end NOW.” (September 24, 2025).
Later the same afternoon, Block criticized what he described as “extreme leftist rhetoric,” stating: “Extreme leftist rhetoric is radicalizing unhinged people toward political violence. It’s a fact. Rhetoric like trying to equate ICE agents carrying out Congress’ immigration laws to the KKK — as the chairman did at yesterday’s meeting. That needs to end right here, and right now.” (September 24, 2025).
In another tweet that day, Block commented on a presidential appointment: “God bless Dr. Carson! Great choice, Mr. President.” (September 24, 2025).
Block was elected to the New Mexico State House in 2023 after succeeding Rachel Black as representative for District 51.
