Rep. John Block, a Republican elected to the New Mexico State House in 2023 representing the state’s 51st House district, has recently made several public statements on his social media platform X regarding legislative proceedings and international events.
On October 7, 2025, Block commented on tensions within the state legislature during a Health Committee meeting. He stated, “Leftists are obsessed with demonizing anyone who dares try to invest in New Mexico, such as firms who purchase and run hospitals. Today in Health Committee, the chair tried to shut me down from speaking, and I wasn’t having any of it. The majority increasingly tries to silence https://t.co/0SyHjBYkqc” (October 7, 2025). Later that day, he posted a follow-up message clarifying his earlier remarks: “*silence the minority” (October 8, 2025).
In addition to state matters, Block also addressed international concerns on October 8, reflecting on the two-year anniversary of an attack by Hamas militants. He wrote: “As the day ends, I continue to remember the lives of the innocent souls brutally murdered on October 7, 2023, by Palestinian-Hamas terrorists, I pray for the 48 hostages (both alive and murdered) to be returned, and I also pray for peace in the Middle East. #ReleaseTheHostages” (October 8, 2025).
Block began serving as state representative after being elected in November 2022 and taking office in January 2023. He succeeded Rachel Black as representative for New Mexico’s House District 51.
