Rep. John Block, a Republican member of the New Mexico State House representing the 51st district since 2023, has recently shared a series of critical posts on his social media account, addressing both state political dynamics and national media.

On October 9, 2025, Block commented on relationships within the state legislature and directed criticism at Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham. He wrote, “I’ve spoken to many of my Democrat AND Republican colleagues in both chambers of the Legislature, and they don’t like you, either, @GovMLG. Some Democrats have actually had harsher words about you than the Republicans, and can’t wait for you to get the frap out of here already!”

The following day, October 10, 2025, Block criticized The New York Times in another post: “What a sick, twisted, delusional world we live in. The New York Times is absolute trash, and anyone who still reads it obviously has some issues.”

Later that same day, he encouraged voter participation after casting his ballot: “Just voted in my local elections for ALL Republicans! Make sure to research your candidates and VOTE “

Block was elected to represent New Mexico’s 51st House district in 2023 after succeeding Rachel Black. As a member of the state legislature, he frequently uses social media platforms to share his views on current events and legislative matters.
