Rep. John Block, a Republican member of the New Mexico State House representing the 51st district since 2023, recently posted several comments on social media expressing criticism of New Mexico’s free college program and responding to other online content.

On April 11, 2026, Block posted, “This is the slop “free college” in NM brings. Uselessness and continued failure.”

Two days later, on April 13, he responded to another post by stating simply, “I agree.” In a separate tweet shortly after, he added “lol” in response to additional content.

Block was elected to his current position in 2023 after succeeding Rachel Black as representative for New Mexico’s 51st House district.
