Rep. John Block, a Republican member of the New Mexico State House representing the 51st district since 2023, used his social media account on October 3, 2025, to criticize Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s recent special legislative session and comment on the passing of Dame Patricia Routledge.

In a post made early in the morning on October 3, Block wrote: “.@GovMLG’s “special session” was a fail, it accomplished NOTHING, and wasted $250K for the session itself and tens of millions on useless, politically charged leftist pet projects to hate on the President! But I’ve got news for them—@realDonaldTrump is still their president!!!” Later that night, he followed up with another message directed at Governor Lujan Grisham: “Good. Be disappointed, @GovMLG.”

On the same day, Block also commented on cultural news with a brief tribute: “RIP, Dame Patricia Routledge! Another legend gone.”

John Block succeeded Rachel Black as representative of New Mexico’s 51st House district after being elected in 2023.
