Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Apr. 9.
After resolving technical difficulties following the launch of the one-time Self-Employment Stimulus Payment (SESP), the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS) has restored the link and is now accepting applications until the threshold of 2,000 qualified applicants have been approved.
Applicants are able to apply by creating an individual account and logging into www.jobs.state.nm.us and clicking on the link for SESP located on their My Workforce Connection page.
During Yesterday’s unforeseen technical issues some individuals were in the process of completing their application as the link went down. These individuals received an email from the department with instructions to reopen and complete their application.
Alerts will be posted on the department’s website and on NMDWS social media accounts once the application process has closed.
SESP does not impact an individual’s eligibility for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA). If an individual is unable to apply for SESP or did not receive an approval, they may still apply for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) when it becomes available later this month.
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions is working diligently to prepare our system to provide PUA to the self-employed, independent contractors, and gig economy workers as soon as possible.
