It is illegal to push your snow onto the roadway or across the roadway. If you do, it increases the risk of more snow to pile up, which brings continued hazards to the area.
When you are cleaning up snow, you should clean out the area around your mailbox, out approximately 50 feet. This allows plows to clear roadways with less chance of damaging your mailbox.
Plow trucks are trying to keep roadways clear, not driveways in a snow event. It is realized this is an inconvenience to property owners when driveway entrances get filled back in. However, the roadway is the priority. Thank you for your understanding.
