Las Cruces Police are investigating the deaths of a local couple found in their home on the 4000 Block of Gila Trail. The incident, which occurred around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2024, is believed to be a murder-suicide.
The male suspect has been identified as Dennis Wyatts, aged 77, and the female victim as Renate Wyatts, aged 83. According to police reports, both individuals died from gunshot wounds.
