Two pedestrians injured in North Main Street shooting under investigation

Las Cruces police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Wednesday night near the 1900 block of North Main Street, leaving two pedestrians injured.

According to authorities, the incident took place around 11:20 p.m. on October 29, 2025. A 36-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were crossing the road westbound when they were struck by gunfire. Emergency responders transported both victims to a local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators reported that two men fled east along a pathway next to a drainage ditch following the shooting. Despite searching the area, police were unable to locate the suspects. One suspect is described as a short Hispanic man, while the other is described as tall, skinny, and also Hispanic.

“Anyone with information that might help identify either or both suspects is asked to call Las Cruces police at (575) 526-0795,” according to officials.

The investigation remains ongoing.
