National Public Safety Telecommunications Week

17

The Doña Ana Board of County Commissioners presents the MVRDA Board Chairman, Shannon Reynolds, with a proclamation to celebrate April 10-16, 2022 as National Public Safety Telecommunications Week.

The Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority (MVRDA) is responsible for answering both emergency and non-emergency calls for approximately 214,445 residents in and around Doña Ana County. In 2021, the dispatch center received 366,054 calls resulting in the following agencies being dispatched:

• 233,915 law enforcement

• 35,317 fire services

• 27,960 emergency medical incidents

In honor of the many nameless and faceless personnel who serve the public daily in emergency situations - without opportunities to receive thanks from the beneficiaries of their work - we THANK YOU!
