Las Cruces Public Libraries invites community members to join their ongoing craft program, themed painting, with a Star Wars theme for this month. The program is scheduled for Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the Craft Room on the first floor of the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library.

Coinciding with Star Wars Week and May the Fourth celebrations, participants have the opportunity to display their creations at the annual art show. The themed painting sessions recur every other month on the first Saturday. The upcoming themes include Colors in June, tied to the Summer Reading Program, and Back to School or Dogs in August.

Registration is available online at the library website. The event is free for participants of all ages. The library is located on Picacho Avenue and can be accessed via the Roadrunner Transit route 1. Those requiring disability accommodations are advised to contact the library 48 hours in advance. For further details, Deanna Duffy, Librarian, is the contact person.

The Parks and Recreation Department is also organizing weekly hiking events through April and May. Additionally, April is designated as Safe Digging Month, with a reminder to call 811 system. The Lush and Lean program and various city initiatives continue to run, providing resources and opportunities for residents.
