Andy Luna joined Doña Ana County on September 23, 2002 as a Sheriff’s Office Deputy. After an ankle injury, he transferred to the Detention Center in 2007 as a DASO Corporal.
Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office, Andy served honorably in the United States Navy and was a Law Enforcement Officer for 19 years after that.
In 2011, he became a Background Investigator and currently performs all the background investigations for newly hired staff at the Detention Center, including contract personnel and volunteers. He also performs background investigations every five years on current employees and serves as the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Terminal Agency Coordinator lead for his department.
