The inaugural New Mexico State University Chihuahua Day is set to take place on Saturday, April 6 at the NMSU Las Cruces campus. Sponsored by the NMSU Foundation and Alumni Association, the event will coincide with the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences’ fifth annual ACES Open House from 9 a.m. to noon. Chihuahua Day aims to celebrate the rich heritage of NMSU students hailing from New Mexico’s sister state of Chihuahua, Mexico.
"Our cross-country relationship with Chihuahua is strengthened by everything we do as NMSU - the stronger we are, the stronger Chihuahua will be," affirmed Sylvia Y. Acosta, CEO of the NMSU Foundation.
Chihuahua Day offers an opportunity for NMSU graduates from Chihuahua to reconnect with their alma mater through tours, social gatherings, and networking with fellow alumni, alongside participating in the ACES Open House. The event is free and open to the public, with all Chihuahua-based graduates warmly invited to partake in the festivities.
"¡Bienvenidos a su casa!," Acosta warmly welcomed NMSU’s Chihuahua alumni back, emphasizing the sense of homecoming and camaraderie that the event aims to foster. For more information about the open house, interested individuals can contact 575-646-2877 or visit the event website.
