New Mexico State University is set to host authors Danielle Dutton and Martin Riker in an upcoming event for the Nelson-Boswell Reading Series. This series, honoring writers Antonya Nelson and Robert Boswell who started their teaching careers at NMSU, brings visiting writers to the university to engage with the community through public readings.

Danielle Dutton's work has been featured in prestigious publications such as "The New Yorker," "The Paris Review," and "Harper’s." She is recognized as a co-founder and editor of Dorothy, an independent press focusing on fiction predominantly by women. Her novels include "Attempts at a Life," "Margaret the First," and "SPRAWL."

Martin Riker, author of novels like "The Guest Lecture" and "Samuel Johnson's Eternal Return," contributes critiques and reviews to major outlets like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. In 2009, after serving as associate director of Dalkey Archive, he co-founded Dorothy with Danielle Dutton.

The reading event will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, at NMSU’s Creative Media Institute Theatre in Milton Hall, room 171. Following the readings, there will be a reception at New Mexico Vintage Wines located at 2310 Avenida de Mesilla.
