New Mexico State University's Dairy Extension is set to host two Vermiculture Field Days in collaboration with DairyMax and BioFiltro. The events will take place on December 5 at the Red Rock Dairy in Amherst, Texas, and on December 6 at the Rajen Dairy No. 2 in Clovis, New Mexico.
The field days will start at 10 a.m. local time and will feature an on-dairy viewing of the BioFiltro pilot system. Attendees can also participate in a lunch presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. BioFiltro is known for its wastewater treatment solutions.
The BIDA System, which stands for Biodynamic Aerobic System, has been operational at both sites throughout the year. It aims to reduce emissions while improving water quality and soil health by using worms and microbes to remove up to 99% of wastewater contaminants within four hours. This process results in high-quality water that can be reused for agricultural irrigation or discharged to cities at reduced fees.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP to Shelly Morris via email at sspears@nmsu.edu or by phone at 575-693-8238.
