The City of Las Cruces is inviting residents aged 18 and over to participate in the 2025 Neighborhood Leadership Academy. This 12-week course offers a comprehensive look at city operations, providing answers to questions such as how traffic lights are controlled, who maintains the city's ballfields, and who organizes City Council meetings.
Registration for the academy remains open until December 27, 2024. The sessions will commence on January 8 and conclude on April 2, 2025. A graduation brunch is scheduled for April 7, followed by a recognition ceremony during the City Council meeting.
Classes will be held every Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at various locations throughout the city. "Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about your community!" reads an invitation from the city.
Interested individuals can contact Catrina Godinez for registration details at (575) 528-3003 or via email at [email protected].
