Rep. Gabe Vasquez, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Mexico’s 2nd district, has taken to social media to address a recent mass shooting incident in Las Cruces. His series of tweets convey his condolences and emphasize the need for community unity and mental health resources.

On March 22, 2025, Rep. Vasquez expressed his sorrow regarding the event: "I am deeply saddened by the news of a mass shooting in Las Cruces overnight. I will continue to work closely with local enforcement to bring those responsible to justice. My prayers are with the victims and their families."

Later that day, he shared information about available mental health resources following acts of mass violence: "Mental health resources after mass violence https://t.co/EDkTJ3YWDK".

The following day, on March 23, 2025, Rep. Vasquez emphasized the importance of community healing and solidarity: "We need real solutions, we need honest conversations & above all, we need unity because our community is hurting.
