Join Las Cruces Public Libraries for an event featuring retired National Park Ranger Randy Harabin. The presentation, focused on the history of the National Park Service, will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the Roadrunner Room of the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library.
Randy Harabin, a retired ranger, will discuss his experiences in the role. Thomas Branigan Memorial Library is located at 200 E. Picacho Ave, accessible via Roadrunner Transit route 1.

Additionally, the Parks and Recreation Department will conduct weekly hiking and walking events in April and May. Meanwhile, April is designated Safe Digging Month, encouraging residents to call 811 for service location verification.
Other city initiatives include the Lush and Lean program, aiming to assist Las Cruces residents with water resource management through gardening. In collaboration with local organizations, the City of Las Cruces seeks professional interviewers for high school students. An upcoming community outreach meeting by the auditing OIR Group will address the Las Cruces Police Department's activities.
Several other city projects are underway, including a new trash cart latch plan and redevelopment planning for W. Picacho and Motel MRA. The Las Cruces Public Libraries also plan a series of poetry discussions titled Palabras y Artesanias, starting with a first session on Ancestry and Identity.
The Citizens Police Academy's next class, a tuition-free program, will introduce attendees to the Las Cruces Police Department. Enrollment for spring 2025 is open at several community locations for $100 per semester.
