New Mexico State University (NMSU) has announced the selection of three finalists for the position of dean for the College of Health, Education, and Social Transformation. A search committee has selected these candidates following a national search.
The College will conduct open forums with each finalist, providing an opportunity for public engagement. These forums will be held in person at O’Donnell Hall, Room 111, and online via Zoom from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
The schedule is as follows: Monday, April 7, for Rick Marlatt, who is currently the associate dean of the NMSU Graduate School and International Affairs; Tuesday, April 8, for Rashid Ahmed, a tenured professor and inaugural dean of the College for Community Health at Montclair State University; and Thursday, April 10, for Algerian Hart, the associate dean of the McQueary College of Health and Human Services at Missouri State University.
The search committee is chaired by Phame Camarena, current dean of the Conroy Honors College. The university provides access to candidate bios and resumes at the website https://hest.nmsu.edu/about-us-deans-office/deans-search/2025.html.
