Helen Hunt to speak at NMSU for Las Cruces International Film Festival

Academy Award-winning actress Helen Hunt will present a talk at New Mexico State University, sharing insights into her career in film and television. The event aligns with the Las Cruces International Film Festival's lineup.

New Mexico State University Creative Media Institute professor Ross Marks has arranged for Hunt to engage with NMSU students and the wider community. The discussion will cover her expansive career, which includes significant roles as an actress, writer, director, and producer. The session, set in the Mark Medoff Theater within the ASNMSU Center for the Arts, will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 10. It is free and open to the public.

Hunt is known for her versatile body of work in film, theater, and television. Her accolades include an Oscar for "Best Actress" for "As Good As It Gets," along with a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for the same role. Her performance in the television series "Mad About You" brought her four Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards among others. Recently, she appeared in films such as “I See You” and “The Night Clerk,” and is currently involved in a production with Dustin Hoffman.

This year, the festival runs from April 9-13 at Allen Theatres Cineport 10, supported by NMSU and Visit Las Cruces. Pass options range from a VIP pass at $200 to a Day Pass priced at $35, with tickets available at www.lascrucesfilmfest.com.

"LCIFF executive director Ross Marks" will join Hunt on stage for the planned discussion set at the Medoff Theatre, promising to draw a considerable audience from both students and locals.
