Of the 2,314 people living in La Mesilla in 2019, 51.6 percent (1,195) were women and 48.4 percent (1,119) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the SW New Mexico News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 737-to-687. In the 65 and over age range, there were 267 females and 197 males.
