NM Legislature Passed Senate Bill 48

In 2019, the NM legislature passed Senate Bill 48 which outlined the requirements for school districts to manage and care for students with diabetes. Not only do we rely on school nurses, but also teachers, coaches, administrative staff, and volunteers to receive level 3 diabetic training. Schools in Doña Ana County have done an amazing job of working to ensure that they provide diabetic students with the full school experience - whether it be athletics, fine arts, music, or anything else that every other student has the opportunity to participate in.
Therefore, the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners has proclaimed November as Diabetes Awareness Month!  Watch the presentation of the proclamation here: https://youtu.be/TUov7fgcZaE?t=4953
