New Mexico State University has unveiled a new resource on campus aimed at providing professional headshot services to its students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Nusenda Professional Headshot Booth, located in the Corbett Center Student Union, offers a convenient and free way for individuals to obtain high-quality headshots for various purposes.
"We're grateful for our partnership with Nusenda Credit Union and for their generous financial support of the professional headshot booth," expressed Tony Marin, assistant vice president for Student Affairs at NMSU. "Nusenda Credit Union recognizes the link and the importance of students being able to have a professional headshot for their digital portfolios, videoconference image, and LinkedIn profile."
Sara Keller, senior vice president of community engagement with Nusenda, highlighted the significance of the headshot booth, stating, "Headshots are historically very expensive and hard to get, especially for a student." She added, "Having something like the headshot booth available in the student union at NMSU for all students to use seemed like a brilliant way to provide equitable, convenient access for all students."
The Nusenda Professional Headshot Booth streamlines the process of obtaining headshots by allowing individuals to enter the booth, register, follow prompts on a video screen, take multiple photos, edit the images, and receive the final results via email - all within minutes. This service is particularly valuable in today's digital age where professional headshots are essential for various purposes, including social media, chat applications, video conferences, and professional profiles.
Marci Salinas-Milam, program director of the NMSU Nusenda Center for Financial Capability, emphasized the impact of the headshot booth on students, stating, "The NMSU Nusenda Center for Financial Capability was fortunate to be able to provide this and additional resources to students, further impacting NMSU LEADS 2025-Enhancing Student Success and Social Mobility."
