Andrea Orzoff, an associate professor of history at New Mexico State University and faculty fellow in the William Conroy Honors College, has been actively involved in expanding student opportunities at the university. Orzoff, who has been leading the university’s Fellowships Office since 2021, plays a crucial role in helping numerous students each semester in their quest to broaden their educational horizons both nationally and internationally.
The Fellowships Office, located within the Honors College, is a valuable resource for the entire NMSU community. It offers guidance and support to undergraduate and graduate students as they apply to various prestigious national and international scholarship and fellowship programs. These programs encompass a diverse range, including well-known scholarships like Fulbright and Boren, as well as those focused on careers in the U.S. government and public service.
In addition to her role in the Fellowships Office, Orzoff takes a proactive stance in advancing international activities within the Honors College. She actively contributes to initiatives aimed at fostering global citizenship among Crimson Scholars and other motivated students seeking to enhance their international perspectives.
Orzoff's dedication extends beyond her administrative roles as she serves as the faculty Fulbright liaison and the student Fulbright Program adviser. Notably, she spearheads an annual Fulbright Week to raise awareness about the awards and conducts multiple orientation workshops for both faculty and students throughout the year. Moreover, Orzoff offers personalized support to applicants throughout the application process, from reviewing drafts to addressing queries.
