Summer students in Las Cruces Public Schools’ Class of 2024 will participate in commencement exercises on Friday, June 28 at Las Cruces High School. The ceremony will take place inside the gym at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5 p.m.
The event is a coordinated effort by all LCPS high school principals. Gabriela Alaniz, principal at Arrowhead Park Early College High School, will lead the welcome address and pledge of allegiance. Brenda Ballard, principal at Las Cruces High School, will deliver the introductions. Jeff Brilliant, principal at Centennial High School, will address the Class of 2024. Julie Maestas, principal at Rio Grande Preparatory Institute, will officially present the Class of 2024. Louie Lucero, principal at Organ Mountain High School, will read the names of graduates.
The LCPS Board of Education is entrusted with the presentation of diplomas. The turning of the tassel will be led by Mayfield High School’s principal, Eric Fraass.
Friday’s commencement exercises will be broadcast live on LCPS-TV's YouTube channel.
Summer graduation seniors and guests are asked to park in the lot accessible by Boutz Road, between the LCHS practice field and track.
