The City of Las Cruces experienced a disruption in its phone services, which affected communications since early Friday, December 27. The issue persisted until Monday morning, December 30, when the phones were still out of service at 8:30 a.m. The city's IT Department collaborated with its vendor to resolve the problem as swiftly as possible.

By just before 1 p.m. on Monday, December 30, the phone lines were restored, and Roadrunner Transit lines resumed normal operations.

During the outage, Roadrunner Transit offices could not receive calls from outside the city phone system. Information about Roadrunner's fixed route services and access to the Passio real-time bus location app was available on their website. Vamonos customers with the Via scheduling app were able to continue scheduling rides through the app.
