The Las Cruces Police Department is set to hold its second "MOC on the Block" event at Young Park on February 25. The gathering will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the park located at 850 S. Walnut St.

"MOC," which stands for Mobile Operations Command, involves a mobile unit where Community Outreach officers and advocates engage with residents about crime and safety issues in their neighborhoods.

This upcoming event marks the second of several monthly meetings organized by LCPD's Community Outreach team.

The OIR Group, tasked with auditing the Las Cruces Police Department since 2021, will also host its second community outreach meeting during this event from 6 to 8 p.m.

Las Cruces continues to engage with residents through various initiatives, including new trash cart latches, discussions on redevelopment areas, poetry sessions at public libraries, and educational programs like the Citizens Police Academy.

Additionally, plans are underway to revitalize neighborhoods around El Paseo and S Solano corridors as part of broader city development efforts. The city remains committed to supporting workforce development programs aimed at enhancing career opportunities for residents.
