Las Cruces Public Schools (LCPS) has announced an extension of its Cold Weather Collection Drive, with the new deadline set for January 15, 2025. This initiative, organized by the district's Athletics, Activities and Fine Arts departments, seeks donations of gently used winter clothing and blankets for those in need.

Michelle Ronga, Executive Director of Athletics, highlighted the importance of the drive amid current weather conditions: "With the recent drop in temperatures and snowfall around the Mesilla Valley, our community needs this more than ever," she said. "We appreciate these donations and will work quickly to get them where they need to be."

This marks the second year LCPS has conducted the Cold Weather Drive. Donation boxes are available at all LCPS buildings within the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex located at 505 S. Main Street in Las Cruces. Contributions can be made during regular business hours from Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

For additional information about the collection drive, interested parties can contact LCPS at (575) 527-6680.
