Rep. Gabe Vasquez emphasizes community unity and cultural heritage in recent tweets

Rep. Gabe Vasquez, a U.S. Congressman representing New Mexico’s 2nd district since 2023, has been active on social media, sharing his thoughts and experiences related to his work and the communities he serves. Born in El Paso, Texas in 1984 and residing in Las Cruces, Vasquez has used his platform to discuss topics ranging from state pride to youth programs and Black History Month.

On January 30, 2025, Rep. Vasquez expressed his admiration for New Mexico's deep history and the pride of its people. He stated that despite disagreements, "we work peacefully to find common ground," emphasizing the shared love for the state as a unifying factor among its residents. The following day, January 31, 2025, Vasquez highlighted his visit to the Zuni Youth Enrichment Project. He praised their efforts in serving over 1,000 youth annually through food sovereignty programs that reconnect young individuals with their heritage and promote sustainable agricultural practices while honoring Zuni traditions. On February 1, 2025, Vasquez recognized Black History Month by acknowledging the significant contributions of African Americans and celebrating the rich history and culture of Black communities within New Mexico.
