Feb. 10, 2025, marks the 35th anniversary of a tragic mass shooting in Las Cruces that remains unsolved. On this day in 1990, four children and three adults were shot at a local bowling alley. Three children and one adult died immediately, while another adult survivor succumbed to injuries years later.

Las Cruces police continue to seek information that could lead to solving the case. A reward of $25,000 is being offered by Las Cruces-Dona Ana County Crime Stoppers for tips identifying the two suspects involved.

The incident occurred on the morning of Feb. 10, 1990, at Las Cruces Bowl on E. Amador Ave. Two gunmen forced seven victims into an office before opening fire on them: three adults and four children aged 13, 12, 6, and 2.

A critically injured Melissia Repass, aged 12 at the time, managed to call 911 around 8:30 a.m., alerting authorities to the crime scene where victims were found shot execution-style.

Three victims were already deceased when officers arrived: Steven Teran (26), his daughter Paula Holguin (6), and Amy Hauser (13). Valerie Teran (2) was taken to a hospital but died shortly after arrival.

Survivors included Melissia Repass, her mother Stephanie Senac (34), and Ida Holguin (33). Stephanie Senac passed away in 1999 due to complications from her injuries.

Investigators suspect that the assailants stole less than $5,000 from the business before setting fire to destroy evidence. The suspects are believed to be Hispanic with dark complexions and spoke fluent English.

Las Cruces-Dona Ana County Crime Stoppers maintains its offer of a $25,000 reward for information leading to identifying those responsible for this crime. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers or online via NMCrimeStoppers.org or through the "P3 TIPS" app available on most devices.
