The Las Cruces Police Department is seeking technicians for its Real-Time Crime Center, which is scheduled to start operations this spring. The center will utilize real-time information and technology to assist law enforcement in responding more effectively to priority calls. Technicians at the RTCC will monitor live-feed cameras, radios, and data systems during active service calls, providing data and situational awareness support for officers on the ground.
The department plans to hire five technicians for the RTCC. Current LCPD sergeants and uniformed officers will also be involved in the center's operations. Applicants are required to have at least an associate’s degree along with two years of experience in criminal justice or a similar law enforcement setting. A combination of education, experience, and training may also fulfill these requirements as per City of Las Cruces policy.
Applicants will undergo a background investigation and receive necessary training. Those interested can find more information and submit applications online. The deadline for application submission is March 3, 2025.
