The OIR Group, tasked by the City of Las Cruces to audit the Las Cruces Police Department since 2021, is set to host its second community outreach meeting. This event will occur from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Munson Senior Center located at 975 S. Mesquite St.

This gathering provides residents with an opportunity to engage directly with representatives from the OIR Group. Attendees can gain insight into the purpose and function of the services provided by the firm, ask questions in an open forum setting, and share their experiences or concerns regarding local policing.

Earlier on the same day, at 1 p.m., the OIR Group will present its seventh semi-annual report during a work session with City Council in Council Chambers at 700 N. Main St. The firm reviews Internal Affairs investigations conducted by LCPD into alleged misconduct and offers feedback on their findings' accuracy. These findings and recommendations are presented to City Council twice annually.

The community outreach meeting is a public event open to all interested parties.
